Central election Commission of Belarus refused to register the former head of Belgazprombank Viktor Babariko, who is under investigation in registration as a candidate in the presidential elections of the country.

As reported TUT.by with reference to the statement of the CEC, the reason is a mismatch between the Declaration of income and assets and the participation of foreign organizations in its election campaign.

The CEC head Lidziya Yarmoshyna stated that the CEC received a letter from the state control Committee, which stated that Babariko headed the criminal group, “laundering money”.
