In an interview with BUNTE magazine, Christian Lindner talks about how he organizes his rare free time with his wife Franca and reveals what he would like to improve on in 2023.
Federal Finance Minister and FDP leader Christian Lindner started this year full of energy, as he explains in the BUNTE interview: “For several years now, my wife and I have been spending the turn of the year with people we love on Sylt. You can laugh, eat, do sports or play “Monopoly” or “Men ärgere Dich nicht”. For us, Sylt is a place of longing: the rough water, the stiff breeze, hiking along almost empty strands – we love that, it makes me feel free and refreshed inside. After that, the batteries are full again.”
For the new year, Christian Lindner, as he says to BUNTE, has made one of his goals: “In 2023 I want to see if I can make progress from the level of grilling, scrambled eggs and pasta in cooking.”
Lindern’s wife Franca Lehfeldt, chief reporter at “WELT TV”, should also be happy… How does the busy couple manage their rare free time? “We usually see each other every day – if at all possible I come home from long distances at night,” explains Lindner BUNTE.
“Love comes first. If I have a free afternoon, I also like to accompany Franca on her passions. Recently she has a horse again. Of course I’ll go to the stables with them.” Lindner himself now rides, too. “Two years ago, my wife made me discover horseback riding as a sport,” the minister told BUNTE. “It’s not just training, it’s also good for the soul. A big animal with a mind of its own that carries you and with whom you have to develop a relationship.”
The ZDF “Morgenmagazin” has been her domain for years: Dunja Hayali will also appear in “heute journal” in February.
So far, Prince Harry in particular has publicly dished out against his father, King Charles, and the British royal family. Now the monarch could turn the tables. He is said to be planning his own interview with the BBC, in which his youngest son is also said to be a topic.
