The number of corona infections is rising again, inflation is putting pressure on wallets and the war in Ukraine is keeping Europe in suspense – German politics is facing major challenges. In a special broadcast by “maybrit illner” on July 7th at 10:15 p.m. on ZDF, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (64) wants to answer the questions and also the criticism of the citizens.

In the last episode before the summer break, Maybrit Illner (57) talks to the politician about the current political crises. Scholz should find an answer to the question “War, Corona, climate – one crisis too many, Chancellor?”. Is politics capable of counteracting the current crises? Or are the parties just trying to distribute the burden as fairly as possible? The special program will be broadcast live on television and is expected to be available from 2 a.m. in the ZDF media library.

Most recently, Olaf Scholz was a guest on the talk show in March of this year. At that time he spoke about the challenges of the Ukraine war and Germany’s foreign and security policy. In the program he also asked former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder (78) to resign from his posts at state-owned Russian energy companies.
