Junk operators can stop working in 20 regions of the Russian Federation

the Russian environmental operator (REO) has named the 20 regions of the Russian Federation, which until June 1 due to non-payment can stop the work of the regional operators for waste disposal. It is reported TASS with reference to the presentation of REO.

it is Noted that the number of regions where a critical situation arises with the financial condition of reoperation, can grow up to 35.

At risk are the following constituent entities of the Russian Federation: Dagestan, Buryatia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Yakutia, North Ossetia, Tyva, Altai, Khakassia, Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Altai Krai, Vologda, Kemerovo, Orel, Magadan, Pskov, Amur, Novosibirsk, Smolensk, Kostroma region.

Previously, the General Director of REO Ilya Gudkov during a video conference with the Federation Council reported that the number of subjects, where a critical situation arises with the financial condition of reoperation, can grow in the near future to 35.

the Main reason for this situation in REO consider the mass failure of businesses to pay for waste disposal in the period of downtime due to the coronavirus. According to him, the collection of payments for the provision of waste disposal has fallen to 60% in April. As forecast in the REO, in the case of the preservation of the regime of self-isolation, this figure may fall to 40%.

currently, the government has already approved one of the measures to support reoperation – compensation within three months 20% of the estimated required gross revenue. Also agreeing to the government a draft decree on subsidising the interest rate on loans, attracted by reoperation from January 2019 to March 2020 in the amount of 100% of the key rate of the Central Bank.
