Czech Republic Player Ruled out of Euro 2024 After Bike Accident

The Czech Republic has lost one of its key players in an unusual way: midfielder Michal Sadilek had to be ruled out of the Euro 2024 after injuring himself falling off a bicycle. The Twente player from the Netherlands suffered a leg cut after the fall last Saturday (8). Sadilek was the captain of his team in the friendly against Malta on Friday (7), where the Czechs won 7-1.

“It’s a big loss for us. Michal is one of the most experienced players in our team. I wish him a speedy recovery on behalf of the whole team. We will decide in the near future whether we will call up another player,” commented coach Ivan Hasek.

The Czech Republic is in Group F alongside Portugal, Turkey, and Georgia. The Euro 2024 will be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14.
