On a Berlin bus, an 11-year-old boy was racially insulted and beaten by a group of his peers. As he fled onto the street, he was hit by a car. 

An eleven-year-old suffered serious head injuries on Tuesday when he was hit by a car in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. As the police said, the boy had escaped from a bus on line 140. There, a group of six people his age is said to have racially insulted and beat him. At the Adalbertstrasse/Oranienstrasse stop, the boy wanted to cross the street in front of the bus and was hit by a car. He was taken to a hospital for inpatient treatment. 

An eight-year-old, who according to witnesses was part of the group of attackers, was questioned on site and then handed over to his mother. The investigation into the other perpetrators and the course of the accident is ongoing.
