Earlier, the Ministry of emergency situations reported that on may 1 at 5.55 (3.55 GMT) as a result of heavy rain and a Gale there was a break of one of the dams Serdobintseva reservoirs in the Syrdarya region, no casualties. Were flooded several villages, damaged roads and farmland. The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev in the affected area personally supervises the liquidation of consequences of flooding.

About 70 thousand people living in the vicinity of the reservoir were evacuated to a safe area and placed in a specially prepared facilities in the Syrdarya and Jizzakh regions, said the Agency. On Friday at 17.00 (15.00 GMT) the outflow of water from the reservoir stopped, and launched into the lake Arnasay in Jizzakh region.

Sardobinsky reservoir was built in 2017, it covers 922 million cubic meters of water.
