the shareholders of the English Premier League have agreed on interim changes to the rules regarding substitutes, for the period until the end of the season-2019/20, according to the official website of the tournament.

Now each team can make five substitutions in a single match, and the bench can be up to nine players at a time. Before this was allowed three substitutions and seven players in reserve, respectively.

In a statement, the League noted that these changes are associated with amendments to the rules of the game that previously was provided by the international football Association Board (IFAB).

Similar changes were introduced in the championship of Russia on football, which should resume in the second half of June. In may, the decision adopted by the Executive Committee of the Russian football Union.

Season in the English Premier League was suspended in March due to pandemic coronavirus. The team managed to play 29 rounds of the 38 planned. Subsequently, it was reported that the tournament will continue on June 17.
