Prices for computers, which rose to 30% at the end of the first quarter of 2022, have returned to the level of the beginning of 2022, Izvestia reports.

The cost of a number of models was even lower. In April–June, the average cost of a computer was 62.4 thousand rubles, which is 8% lower than in the first quarter of 2022. The price of most laptops has also returned to the level of the beginning of February 2022.

As market participants say, such dynamics is connected not only with the strengthening of the ruble, but also with the fact that the demand for computers in the second quarter of this year seriously fell both compared to the same period in 2021 and with the previous three months.

In the second quarter of this year, 528 thousand computers were sold in Russia, which is 40% and 45% less than in the first quarter.

It is noted that in order to attract customers, retailers not only reduce prices — installments, loan programs, promotions returned to stores quite quickly.

If the parallel import of laptops will work in full force, and the dollar exchange rate will not grow, then by the end of the summer the equipment will become cheaper by another 10-15%.
