Shipbuilding complex (SSC) "Star" has started construction of a new tanker type "Aframax", which will be named in honor of the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, according to "Rosneft".
Nazarbayev on Monday celebrates 80-year anniversary. He was the head of Kazakhstan’s for nearly 30 years, but 20 March 2019 resigned as President, remained Chairman of the party Nur Otan (Light of Fatherland), the head of the security Council and the President of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan.

In opening ceremony took part the General Director of SSK "Star" Sergey Tseluyko and Primorye territory Governor Oleg Kozhemyako.
According to the company, in total, the portfolio of orders of SSK "Star" series of 12 tankers "Aframax". At the moment the shipyard is building five tankers. The lead ship of the series launched in may 2020 and is undergoing mooring trials. Tankers "Aframax" with deadweight of 114 thousand tons, length – 250 meters, width – 44 meters will be the first vessels of this type built in Russia.
Shipbuilding complex "Star" ("SSK "Star" is included in dtsss) – Russian company built a large-capacity shipbuilding, located in the city of Bolshoi Kamen in Primorsky Krai. The project is implemented by consortium led by "Rosneft".
