The Minister of energy, infrastructure and the digital technology of the German state of Mecklenburg — Vorpommern Christian Pegel in an interview with RT Deutsch said that the European States is not profitable to buy American liquefied natural gas, as it will be more expensive than supplies from Russia.
According to him, the need of conversion of gas to liquid and logistics costs significantly increase the cost of fuel supplies from the United States.
The Minister said that is why Washington fears that their products are not competitive.
PAGEL added that the pressure from the White house on the project "Nord stream — 2" bothering of the company and shareholders.
"Probably now at the bottom of the Baltic sea should "lie" about ten billion euros, which is the Foundation to complete the project are at all interested persons," he said.
The Minister said that all European countries do not like the US attempts to disrupt the construction.
"I believe that in Europe there is unanimity: if for some state outside of the Baltic sea region interferes with the sovereignty of European security of supply, it is outrageous", — quotes the TV channel.
PAGEL noted that Washington’s actions only contribute to the consolidation of Europe in this matter.

The United States opposes the project "Nord stream — 2", because they want to impose on the European States to supply its liquefied natural gas. At the end of last year, the us authorities have adopted a defense budget providing for sanctions against companies involved in the gas pipeline. It was forced to abandon the works of the Swiss Allseas.
The project is supported by Germany and Austria interested in a reliable fuel supply. The construction also serves Norway, the government which owns 30 percent stake in the company Kvaerner, one of the construction contractors.
