Kierra, 27, from Warwickshire, suffered from “unbearable pain, constant bleeding” and “constant anger” after the IUD was inserted. The Daily Mail quotes the mother as saying she felt “helpless and like she was losing her mind.”
According to doctors, the intrauterine device (IUD) was intended to relieve the painful symptoms of endometriosis. But within three weeks of insertion, the pain and bleeding began. Kierra says on TikTok that she was constantly in a state of anger. “I needed to go out and have a minute to myself, and I cried the whole time.”
When she asked her GP for help, she was told she would have to wait six months until her body got used to the contraception. Only after four more appointments in which the mother asked for help did the doctors agree to remove the IUD.
However, when she wanted to make an appointment, she was referred to a sexual counseling center or the emergency room because the practice no longer offered family counseling.
On a spur of the moment, Kierra took action herself and removed the spiral. After this experience, she never wants to use hormonal contraception again. She also changed her doctor’s office.
