The weather in Germany: From today the weather changes! Although it will even be up to 32 degrees, there is a risk of severe thunderstorms, especially in the west and north-west. Red alert already applies in 50 districts.

Attention, severe weather warning! The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of severe thunderstorms with hurricane gusts, heavy rain and hail. After the all-clear signal was given in the extreme west, there are now also warnings for southern Germany. There is a red alert in the following districts and cities in Germany:

Thunderstorms coming from the west. There can be hurricane-force gusts with speeds of around 110 kilometers per hour. There are also warnings of heavy rain with rainfall of between 25 and 40 liters per square meter per hour and 2cm hailstones. The warning is currently valid until 4.30 p.m., in the west of the thunderstorm line until 5 p.m.

The DWD also warns of severe thunderstorms from the afternoon hours in numerous other cities and districts in western Germany. There is a risk of heavy rain, heavy gusts of wind, and locally hurricane gusts. The advance warnings extend from north-western Lower Saxony east to Göttingen and south to Saarland. There are also warnings of severe thunderstorms in the south of Baden-Württemberg and in the extreme south of Bavaria.
