Hungary is interested in supplies of Russian gas via the gas pipeline “Turkish stream”, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siarto.
Hungary is considering the purchase of Russian gas that goes through Turkey and Bulgaria. “The first step will be the construction of connecting pipe length of 15 km, which can bring the gas pipeline from Serbia across the border and connect it to the gas transportation system of Hungary,” — said Siyyarto, reports RIA Novosti.
So, Hungary will have the opportunity to 6.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year, Szijjártó said after talks with Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.
In turn, the Ambassador of Russia to Hungary Vladimir Sergeyev said that the first deliveries of gas to Hungary through the pipeline “Turkish stream” will begin in late 2021 to early 2022.
“Turkish stream” gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey under the Black sea. The design capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year, gas deliveries through the pipeline began on 1 January 2020.
