Some time ago, the company — developer of software and hardware systems, Check Point has conducted a study on phishing activity in the second quarter of 2020. According to the results, in the course of fraudulent attacks, the attackers often used the names Google, Amazon, WhatsApp and Facebook. They imitated the official websites of these companies in order to steal personal data or payment information.

For 13% of phishing attacks carried out under cover of brands Google and Amazon, for 9% — WhatsApp and Facebook. Almost 15% of attacks were aimed at smartphones.

The day before yesterday, as reported by “the Rambler”, it became known that personal data (name, telephone number, state license plate, VIN and others) about a million drivers in Moscow and Moscow region that was current at the end of 2019, and sold at one of the specialized forums for the initial price of 1.5 thousand dollars.
