Eintracht Frankfurt secure the services of Croatian defender Hrvoje Smolcic. The Europa League winner officially announced this after mysteriously announcing the long-awaited transfer.

Defender comes to Eintracht: Hrvoje Smolcic will play for Frankfurt in the future. The 21-year-old Croatian moves from HNK Rijeka to Eintracht, the transfer fee is said to be around two million euros. The change had been pending for a long time, but the SBU made a big secret of it via Twitter in the morning before announcing it. Under Frankfurt’s transfer announcement, fans have already reported which player it is.

Sports director Markus Krösche is satisfied: “We are proud that we were able to convince a highly talented defender like Hrvoje Smolcic to go our way. With him we not only have a tackle player in our ranks from the summer, but also a technically strong player who can be used flexibly on the defensive.”

Leader with edge: Hrvoje Smolcic was captain of Rijeka despite his young age. Also noteworthy are the four dismissals he received in 85 competitive games for the team from the Adriatic coast.
