The sail training ship “Greif” drifted on the Ryck river in Greifswald (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) on Sunday morning without a driver.
According to the police, there was only one 47-year-old man on the 35-meter-long ship who was on board without authorization and was in a mental state of emergency. He was taken to an emergency room. According to the police, after initial investigations, there is a suspicion that the man had previously detached the ship from its berth. He is being investigated for dangerous interference with shipping traffic. However, there was no material damage. The fire brigade pushed the ship back to its berth with the help of a boat.
