In Turin, Italy, the 66th Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) is entering the final this Saturday. Because of the war, international competition appears to be more politically charged than it has been for a long time. The entry from Ukraine is the clear favorite among the 25 participating countries.

It starts! The Eurovision flags are flying! We see the piazza in Turin, the main venue of this year’s ESC, with hundreds of musicians singing “Give Peace a Chance” together. Then it pans into the hall, the PalaOlimpico – all 7000 spectators sing the song together. What a goosebumps start.

Immediately afterwards, the well-known Italian singer Laura Pausini, who belts out songs in Eros Ramazotti style and changes her outfit color three times, takes over the turn. At first she wore a red flowing robe, now black latex. Her dancers wear red rubber gloves like a cleaning crew.
