In addition to beer and various types of sausage, Germany is known worldwide for one culinary specialty in particular: the enormous variety of bread.

The Germans love their “daily bread”. According to the register of the German Bread Institute, there are currently more than 3,000 different bread specialties that are baked and sold in Germany every day.

Hobby and beginner bakers in particular, who do not want to buy their bread but want to bake it fresh themselves, are faced with a number of challenges. For some varieties, not only all sorts of ingredients are required, but also certain knowledge of the often complicated process of baking bread.

The British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has a remedy – and revealed this simple recipe on his cooking show “Keep Cooking and Carry On”, for which only four ingredients are required.

Depending on the oven, the baking time may vary slightly. You can recognize the finished bread by the golden brown crust and a hollow sound when you tap the bottom. Then you should take the loaves out of the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
