ENEA found part of the legendary sailor sculpture, which is more than 60 years ago decorated the facade of the pavilion № 15 “Electronics and communication” (formerly “the Volga region”). Now the historic building is being restored. During works experts found the head of the figure. Its height is 50 cm, width 40 cm. The item is made of concrete, remained part of the valve.

He recalled that the authors of the sculptural decoration in 1950-e years were such masters as I. V. Derunov, A. A. Stempkovsky and Y. P. Pommer.

“during restoration, we do our best to restore the building to the appearance of 1954. This is a large and time-consuming process. The head of a sailor was found during excavation of debris from the corner of the ledges. She was immediately placed in the hands of professionals. Given the continuous cycle of strengthening the foundations by means of piles, the work is carried out in a continuous mode. At the facility employs more than 100 specialists, including 30 restorers.
