Deputy of the city Duma Mikhail Timonov was one of the first donors of blood plasma. In March he became ill with the coronavirus, and probably again. He told me how was the procedure and gave tips what to do in order to avoid illness or at least ease it.
– I Think I was sick twice. For the first time during the holidays, it was very hard. Judging by all the symptoms, it was a coronavirus. I was diagnosed with “pneumonia” was in the presence of all those charms of which now they say – cough deep, dry and painful, high fever, conjunctivitis, aches throughout the body and really breathing difficulties. I was lucky that I was a diver with experience, know how to breathe.
And the second time – at the end of March. It was much easier than the first, the symptoms are the same, but is expressed to a much lesser extent.
– But doctors admit that it is possible the second time to get sick?
– If it’s another strain of the same coronavirus – Yes, you can, because it is suspected that in China and in Italy, for example, different strains.
Installed this way. We have in the Moscow city Duma on March 31, before the meeting tested. But I was not satisfied with the taking of those samples, and even went to a private clinic, where also took the test. 1 April our famous “coronavirus” meeting at the beginning of which Mr. Shaposhnikov, our Chairman, said that everything is fine, we are all healthy. However, it disagreed with the Deputy Sharapova, which is in the middle of the meeting noticed that, well, there are a few people with suspected coronavirus.

Here I was more cautious, took the contacts that samples were taken, and three days later they sent me an official result of the analysis negative. That is, by the time he came first, a positive test result and forced me from��revile on 14-day quarantine, I was healthy and even writing about it had.
But nevertheless, on the quarantine put you?
– Yes. Being completely healthy, I was sitting on the quarantine, passed during this time, two more tests which also came back negative, moreover, participated in the experiment. To Moscow delivered the first batch of rapid tests for antibodies, I found out about it in our local hospital (after being elected MP, I’m not from there moved), signed a piece of paper and I had a test that showed I have a large number of long-term antibodies. There, if you know there are two types of antibodies, one formed at the time of illness when the body is fighting, and others on recovery – this is long-term.
Hearing this, I of course wanted to help their fellow citizens and donate plasma, which today is the most effective method of treatment. But it was a separate problem, because in the Institute Sklifosovsky, where they began first to take the plasma, I first was very happy, and then I was abandoned.
– And its refusal explained?
– I got a call center employee by blood transfusion and said, well, sorry, but for some reasons the authorities you are not fit for the role of the donor. While I do not even invited for tests.

You still have not abandoned the idea to donate plasma?
– Since the desire to save people I have not disappeared, I began to seek out those who we have involved in the experiment for collection of plasma. Experiment – because in the standard version, the blood plasma is forced to pass a 4-month quarantine, but in this case, it is clear that this is impossible. Therefore, in the experiment first, the Sklif, and then the Federal scientific clinical center of Federal medical biological Agency of the Russian Federation, and several state institutions, as far as I know, allowed to do it, bypassing the 4-month period.
Accordingly, I went to fnkts, I conducted a test of two veins took blood to check it on a huge number of options, including back to the coronavirus.

But I was told your dose is enough for a few people, and generally come two weeks later, once again come to pass… I said sure, I’ll come.
– That is, how many times it is possible to make the fence of the plasma, is an individual parameter depends on the amount of antibodies?
– Yes, and with that amount of antibodies, as I have, I may be then again two weeks later will come, that is, can donate plasma two to three times.

– Different, there is a machine with centrifuge, you first take the blood, it is in the process of the fence is divided into the plasma and the rest are very curious, you can see how dripping plasma. Then loosen the cuff, the blood without the plasma you are driving back, and so 3-4 times.

How long is the procedure and what then are you feeling?
– Lasts 40-45 minutes, after I felt completely normal, my body is not affected.

The doctors say that if in those hours when the person starts coughing, it becomes difficult to breathe, pour in the plasma, it gives impressive results. I am generally a very calm person and healthy, but in January it was realized that a serious matter, for ten days was really bad. I have a fat and oil – doctors believe that it is important help easy. And not to succumb to psychosis, which are now of two types: some say, no coronavirus, but it is not, people die really.
