Two people died when a small plane crashed in Central Franconia on Sunday. The motorized plane with two occupants crashed around 11:30 a.m., a police spokesman said.
The accident happened near an airfield in the municipality of Büchenbach (Roth district). According to the police in Nuremberg, the aircraft fell on a field during the approach to an airfield and was badly damaged. The cause of the crash was initially unclear.
On board were therefore two initially unidentified men who died in the impact. The police began investigations, assisted by experts from the Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation.
