Died mathematician Katherine Johnson who calculated the flight to the moon

the head of the US space Agency Jim Breidenstein reported that this morning at the age of 101 years died a mathematician Katherine Johnson, which was calculated at the NASA trajectory, launch window and backup paths for return flights. In particular she worked on the calculation of the flight of Apollo 11 to the moon in 1969.

In 2016, was a film “Hidden formula” on the eponymous book by Margo Lee Shetterly, which shows the work of Johnson and other black women, worked at NASA.
