The third Grand Piano will be held from 30 April to 5 may on the stages of the Great and Rachmaninoff halls of the Moscow Conservatoire and the Tchaikovsky Concert hall. In the second round the contestants will perform with the state orchestra named after E. F. Svetlanov.

Competition for young pianists, Grand Piano Competition appeared in Moscow four years ago on the initiative of Denis Matsuev, who organized it after his first project – the International festival-competition of young pianists Astana Piano Passion. Competition in the capital of Kazakhstan was conducted in 2012 and, according to experts, it is the appearance of Astana Piano Passion gave impetus to the development of piano school in the country.

And our format is absolutely unique, such competition in the world: our musicians play all rounds and in the end win.”

Indeed, the novelty of the Moscow contest of young pianists is a radical update of the rules, which all participants play both tours. For the competition, the musicians got into after videoobama: according to regulations, 15 pianists. In the first round, performed a solo program in the second round – concert with orchestra. Five laureates in the results of both rounds will receive a prize in the amount of five thousand dollars, places are not awarded. The remaining contestants receive thousands of dollars. On the contest website has already published the schedule of auditions in 2021. Opening of the III International Piano competition Grand Competition will be held April 30 in the Grand hall with the participation of the state orchestra named after E. F. Svetlanov. In connection with the postponement of the competition the organizing Committee extended the applications for participation until March 1, 2021. All applications that have been sent previously remain valid. Musicians who apply before July 1, 2020, will be able to participate in the competition, even if the beginning of III Grand Piano Competition they turn 17 years. For other bidders, customary rules: the competition is open to pianists up to age 16.
