Netflix released the trailer for the fourth installment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise on Thursday. Axel Foley returns to service 30 years later… to the sound of the same musical theme.
Eddie Murphy looks ageless in images released Thursday: he’s as cool and casual as he was 30 or 40 years ago – the first film in the series dates from 1984.
The trailer doesn’t let on, but in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, his character returns to Beverly Hills to investigate corruption within the LAPD.
Eddie Murphy reunites in this film with his sidekicks Judge Reinhold (Lt. Billy Roosewood) and John Ashton (Sgt. John Taggart) who were from other parts of the popular franchise. Kevin Bacon and Joseph Gordon-Levitt make their debut in this universe.
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is scheduled for release in summer 2024.
