After the devastating school massacre in which 19 children were killed and two teachers were killed, the responsible security authority admitted to making serious mistakes in the operation.

Texas Public Safety Director Steven McCraw said on Friday in the small town of Uvalde, where the shooter was killed, that it was wrong not to break into the classroom earlier where the gunman was holed up with students and teachers caused the bloodbath at an elementary school on Tuesday. “It was the wrong decision. Period,” McCraw said. “There’s no excuse for that.”

The agency chief said on Friday that 19 police officers were stationed in the hallway outside the classroom early on, but made no attempt to break into the room and stop the shooter. Instead, the decision was made at that moment to wait for special forces. This later turned out to be a misjudgment.

When asked how many children had been shot while waiting and might otherwise have been saved, he said it was still being investigated. “We’re not here to defend what happened,” he said. “We are here to state the facts.”

US Senator Chris Murphy reacted with horror to the massacre at an elementary school in the state of Texas and addressed moving words to his Senate colleagues.

The 18-year-old Texas perpetrator wrote a complete stranger on Instagram before his massacre at an elementary school. The girl made the news public herself – and wonders if she could have done more.

It took an hour for police to subdue the shooter involved in the shooting at a Texas elementary school. The police are now being massively criticized for their actions. Accordingly, most of the students were killed at the beginning. Only then did the US officials attempt to negotiate with the perpetrator.

Salvador Ramos shot dead 19 students and two teachers in a Texas elementary school. There could probably have been many more victims, but one teacher saved herself and her students thanks to a trick: the active shooter drill.
