Mother’s Day is coming up in May, but is it a public holiday?

Mother’s Day is on the second Sunday in May every year. So the date changes every year.

On Mother’s Day we not only think of our mothers, but also thank them for their love and actions towards their children. On this day, the mothers are pampered and sometimes given small gifts.

Mother’s Day has neither a religious connection nor does it deal with a historical event or anything similar. This day is not a public holiday.

In any case, Mother’s Day always falls on a Sunday. Shops are therefore closed and other regulations typical for Sundays should be observed. Nevertheless, many families decide to use this day for an excursion or to enjoy the time together in their own four walls. Joint activities are therefore welcome.
