Here is another fine example of Spanish Grenache full of fruit and freshness.
Made from 100% of the grape variety, grown on sandy soils of granite origin northwest of Barcelona, the Alta Alella GX Catalunya 2021 highlights its fruity and gourmet character. The nose opens with an array of small red fruits, cherries, cranberries, raspberries, with a hint of flowers and garrigue. The mouth is round and plump, but remains fresh and drinkable with a crunchy fruitiness. Very light tannins bring just the right amount of relief.
Delicious served slightly chilled, it will happily accompany ham, ears of crisse and other fatty and savory delicacies from the sugar shack, taking care to avoid too many sweet flavors.
The Altolandon Mil Historias suggested last week would also be a good choice.
