The Bavarian state capital Munich has banned all protests from climate stickers on important streets in its urban area for four weeks. The ban was imposed by general decree to prevent danger and is valid from December 10th to January 8th

The city’s press and information office said on Friday. It applies to all assemblies “at which participants connect firmly to the roadway or in another way, unless the statutory obligation to notify is complied with”.

The ban therefore extends to all roads that are particularly critical for rescue operations and so-called hazard prevention measures, as well as on motorways, including the gantries there.

Organizing and participating in such protests is prohibited there. The ban serves to “ensure that the main routes of emergency and rescue vehicles in the city area are kept clear at all times and to avert possible damage to life and limb,” the city said.

The order applies to roads that are critical for rescue operations and on highways and gantries.
