The bouncer Abdoulaye D. was already in the headlines in Mallorca in 2017. At that time, the Senegalese man saved the life of a 40-year-old by preventing him from drowning. Now the bouncer himself became a victim of misfortune. He is one of those killed in the collapse of a club on the Playa.

In December 2017, Abdoulaye D. became a lifesaver in Mallorca. A 40-year-old Spaniard was about to drown and couldn’t get out of the water.

The man’s companion, crying, spoke to the bouncer of the Black Magic discotheque and one of his companions to call the police, as “Mallorca Magazine” reported. Together with the police and equipped with flashlights as darkness fell, they looked out for the Spaniard.

Abdoulaye D. was the first to venture into the water and found the Spaniard as the waves got higher and higher. At this point he was already up to his neck in water. With the help of his friend, the bouncer ultimately managed to rescue the man and save his life. The man was fine after being checked at the hospital.

Almost six and a half years later, Abdoulaye D. had no lifesaver himself. The Senegalese man was killed when a beach club collapsed. Three other people died alongside him. According to the police, these are two young German women and a Spanish woman.

According to the “Mallorca-Zeitung”, Abdoulaye D. was a friend of the two Mallorca emigrants Caro and Andreas Robens – known from the TV series “Goodbye Germany”. Caro Robens told the newspaper: “It’s madness. He works where there are fights every day and nothing happens. And then he just goes to Medusa for a meal and then the ceiling collapses on him.”

She didn’t want to believe it. She just hoped “that it wasn’t him, that it was an accident.”
