The Serbian President announced a curfew for Easter

The President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic announced that during the upcoming Easter celebration in the country will be declared a curfew in connection with the coronavirus. He declared it on Tuesday on air of the channel RTS.

"I think [the official] the solution will appear after half a day, but to allow people on Good Friday to buy everything you need, [a curfew is imposed] from 17:00 on Friday until 05:00 Tuesday", – said the Serbian leader.

Last weekend the Serbian government also announced a curfew from 17:00 on Friday until 05:00 Monday. Earlier, a curfew operated on weekdays from 17:00 to 05:00 and on weekends from 15:00 to 05:00. Violation of curfew is punishable by fines and prison terms.

Earlier, Vucic did not rule out the introduction of a four-hour quarantine for the country’s capital and the city of NIS.

In Serbia, according to the latest data, contracted 4 465 people, the number of deaths increased to 94. Earlier, the authorities requested assistance in the fight against coronavirus infection in the Russian Federation. 3-4 April, the aircraft of VC promptly delivered to Serbia 87 Russian servicemen, including military doctors, specialists, virologists troops of radiation, chemical and biological protection, special medical equipment, as well as protection and 16 units of military equipment.
