LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky suggested to move the capital of the Far East from Vladivostok to Khabarovsk and the far Eastern combine all the regions into one.
"we Need to return the capital of the Far East in Khabarovsk. Vladivostok is a great city but it is far from the center of a region, Khabarovsk is much more convenient in this sense. And to unite all the 13 regions of the DV in one. And the Governor needs to manage, and the chief of the Far East", – wrote Zhirinovsky in his Telegram channel.
Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2018 has signed the decree "On introducing changes to the list of Federal districts," according to which the Federal district is Khabarovsk became Vladivostok. The process of transfer of the capital of the Far East was launched in late 2018. The relevant agencies began moving to Vladivostok.
