Farewell, N’Golo? N’Golo Kante has one year left on his contract with Chelsea. Recently there have been rumors about a move to Premier League rivals Manchester United. The problem: Kante has missed more than half of games this season through injury, leaving Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel to lament the French world champion’s absence throughout the season.
High achievers: “Last year he was ‘man of the match’ in the last five games of the Champions League. And this guy, voted man of the match in every Champions League game, is now only available for 40 percent of games. That’s a big problem for us,” said Tuchel about the effects Kant’s absence had on the team.
“We miss him very much”: “I think he is our key player, but key players have to be on the pitch,” Tuchel further comments on the problem. “He only plays 40 percent of the games. It’s hard to live with.”
