The Ukrainian secret service assumes that Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin is suffering from cancer. He is also said to have survived an assassination attempt against him unscathed. How secure the information is remains unclear.
In an interview with the Ukrainian newspaper Ukrainska Pravda, the head of the Ukrainian military intelligence service, Kyrylo Budanov, spoke about the Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin. According to Budanov, his secret service can confirm that Putin has cancer. And: He survived an assassination attempt unscathed.
“Yes, we can fully confirm the information that Putin has cancer. He suffers from several serious illnesses, one of which is cancer,” Budanov told the newspaper. Putin still has a few years to live. “Whether we like it or not, that’s the truth,” Budanov is quoted as saying.
The head of the secret service also reports that there was an attempted assassination attempt on the Russian president shortly after the start of the war. “There was an attempted assassination of Putin by representatives of the Caucasus not so long ago,” Budanov said.
Although the attempt failed, the incident was kept under wraps by the Kremlin. “It was an absolutely unsuccessful attempt, but it really happened. It was about two months ago,” Budanov said.
Budanov does not say who exactly the alleged assassins are and what their motives were. The head of the secret service also did not provide any further information about Putin’s cancer. The “Ukrainska Pravda” is also a pro-Ukraine newspaper. Both pieces of information cannot be verified independently.
However, there has been speculation about Putin’s state of health for weeks. It is speculated that Putin is suffering from Parkinson’s – or blood cancer that is being treated with steroids.
Since the invasion of Ukraine, Vladimir Putin’s family has also been in the public eye. Now it comes out: Putin’s daughter was regularly with a Munich plastic surgeon.
It has now been three months since Vladimir Putin ordered Russian troops to invade Ukraine on February 24. So far, the Russian army has not been able to achieve its goals, and experts fear that the war could drag on for a long time.
The former head of the British secret service MI6 expects a change of power in Russia – no later than 2023. Various reports support this assumption. And there is said to be a potential successor for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
