Volkswagen will pay 620 million euros compensation for diesel scandal

Volkswagen will pay compensation to 620 million euros for the diesel scandal. These funds will receive about 200 thousand customers of the auto giant in Germany.

Each of them will get the equivalent of 15 percent of the cost of the purchased vehicle, i.e. from 1350 to 6250 Euro, depending on model and age of the machine.

according to local media reports, mostly members of the German Association of the consumers that Volkswagen has already reached an agreement on compensation. In court, the automaker has submitted more than 400 thousand customers from all over Europe. And companies are trying to resolve the issue through negotiations.

the Scandal of the falsification of data on emissions of diesel engines has cost the German group with more than 30 billion euros. We are talking about fines, purchase of cars, repairs. As explained by the representative of the German company, this amount is not paid in full, the transfer will continue until 2021. The fines, which shall pay Volkswagen budgeted German company.

Recall that the scandal in connection with the fraud with diesel engines broke in 2015. Then the US government announced that Volkswagen deliberately understated data on the content of harmful substances in exhaust gases of diesel engines.
