Vladimir Zernov: Today, we all live in a new environment. In the spring, almost the whole world switched to distance learning and remote work. But distance learning is a technology and like any technology, and especially educational, requires very careful attention to themselves and careful implementation.

10-15 years ago in order to teach in the distance format, it was necessary to obtain a permit. Universities were given an application for a license that allows you to teach online. Then across the country this was the only seven universities, including RosNOU. Why so few? Despite the clarity and transparency, the criteria were very stringent, and this procedure is then canceled. Many universities actively introduced elements distance, and the license became irrelevant.

But our training is not in vain, and this year we promptly moved full-time training in online format. Those universities that have never done it, I had to take someone else’s technology and use other people’s courses. But quality distant is a difficult and time-consuming process. Success is possible only if the University will develop its programs, courses, and develop clear requirements for the conduct of examinations.

the results Of “udalenka” we can talk after the session, when the students pass the exams. But it is already clear: such studies require a lot of effort primarily from the teachers. Work has become more difficult at times. The educational process has become an individual, therefore, more difficult and students – this form of training requires from them true miracles of self-discipline and self-organization.

it is Possible to tell absolutely precisely: the strategy for the development of all higher education institutions will change. It should not be forgotten that the University at all times had two main tasks – preparing quality training and generating new knowledge. The second task will remain largely the same – education without science is impossible. But the learning process will be different. It is clear that much attention will be paid to distance learning. Maybe the students do not want to spend all the time in the classroom, and want more practice. Would they like to master the theoretical material independently and remotely, and in person only to go to seminars, practice, consultations and exams.

Remember the experience of Soviet higher school: students explore the discipline and then came to pass the exams. In particular, from across the country came to be transferred to MIPT and successfully passed the exams, including on the difficult course of theoretical physics. And not always by those who studied full-time were the best on the exam. Then and now a lot depends on the motivation of the student.

Sure, in a new environment will change and indicators of competitiveness the nodes. No wonder that in the criteria of the Moscow international ranking of “Three of the University’s mission” was the whole sections concerning the application of remote sensing technology, both in online courses offered by universities, and in terms of Internet communications universities and companies. Universities, where many lab activities will be difficult to fit into the new format, but after a while we all get used to it. The quality of training will not only suffer, but could increase significantly.
