“Uralvagonzavod” (UVZ) will create in India a joint venture (JV) for the production of components for Russian tanks.

“Concern “Uralvagonzavod” (part of state Corporation rostec) with the active participation of FSMTC of Russia and the Ministry of defence of India found a mutually acceptable solution, which provided the possibility of establishing in India a joint venture for the production of tracks” — according to UVZ.

In India to manufacture “engines, water and oil radiators, machine loading, fuel system components, instruments, electrical equipment hull and turret control units power supply and starter generators, caterpillar tracks for tanks T-72M1 and T-90S,” explains UVZ.

UVZ has partnered with seven Indian companies on the basis of agreements of intent on the program “Make in India”.

“Uralvagonzavod” is ready to further work with Indian companies and restricts the number of industrial partners as offered to the production of components for tanks T-72M1 and T-90S,” said Director UVZ on military-technical cooperation Igor Kulikov.

India produces T-90S tanks, su-30MKI. India and Russia are jointly developing hypersonic missile “BrahMos-2”. In addition, India has a joint venture to produce AK-203 and Ka-226T.
