Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate welcomed the establishment of the indefinite truce in the Donbass, reports 112.ua.

Managing the Affairs of the UOC Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary said that entered into force on 27 July, the cease-fire provides a good opportunity “to make significant progress” towards peace.

“We hope that from now on, on the front, and also in the area of direct contact between the parties will be no more deaths and injuries. That people living on both sides of the front no longer comes into contact with the horrors of the attacks and the effects of hostilities”, — said the Metropolitan.

He called on the faithful to pray that the truce “marked the beginning of a complete cessation of the war in the East of Ukraine.”

From midnight Monday, July 27, in the Donbass has started to operate a full and comprehensive ceasefire, which Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE agreed in the framework of the Trilateral contact group (TAG). This is the 21st attempt to comply with the agreement on an indefinite ceasefire.

In the afternoon of 27 July, the command of the operation United forces (EP) reported that the self-proclaimed Republic of Donbass violated the ceasefire.
