According to a new survey, the governing parties SPD and FDP continue to lose favor with voters. The union also loses. Only the Greens are growing – and the AfD.
If there were a federal election on Sunday, the SPD would only get 18.5 percent of the votes. That would be 1.5 percentage points less than in the previous week – and the weakest value for the party since August 9, 2021, i.e. before the federal election, as the “Bild” newspaper reported, citing a new “opinion trend” from the Insa institute . The FDP lost 0.5 percentage points and slipped to 8 percent. According to Insa, of the parties in the traffic light coalition, only the Greens were able to improve – by one percentage point to 22 percent.
According to the survey, the CDU/CSU lost half a percentage point and is now at 26.5 percent. The AfD increases slightly to 12 percent, the left maintains its value from the previous week (4.5 percent). For the Insa “opinion trend” on behalf of “Bild”, a total of 2062 citizens were interviewed from July 15th to 18th, 2022.
Insa boss Hermann Binkert said: “The Greens are the only traffic light party that is growing. The Union also loses, but could govern with the SPD or the Greens. The increasingly pessimistic view of the citizens into the future is costing the SPD, Union and FDP trust.” The traffic light coalition would therefore only have a parliamentary majority of 48.5 percent. Black and green would also come together to 48.5 percent. An alliance of the CDU/CSU and SPD, which would reach 45 percent, would therefore still be possible.
