The EU Council approved the allocation of Ukraine, as well as the nine States and territories – partners credit assistance in the amount of €3 billion to fight the pandemic. This is stated in a statement on Tuesday the statement of the EU Council. Now this program must be approved by the European Parliament.

"EU Ambassadors on Tuesday approved a proposal of the European Commission to provide up to €3 billion macro-financial assistance to ten countries in programmes of expansion and neighborhood to help them overcome the economic consequences of a pandemic of mers – said in a statement. Financial assistance will be provided in the form of loans on very favorable terms. The funds will be available for 12 months and will be paid in two tranches, the maximum period of repayment – 15 years".

This money will get the Ukraine – €1.2 billion, Tunisia – €600 million for Bosnia and Herzegovina – €250 million, Jordan €200 million, Albania €180 million, Northern Macedonia – €160 million, Georgia – €150 million, Moldova and self-proclaimed Kosovo – €100 million, Montenegro – €60 million

This money become part of the approved by the European Commission on 8 April package of assistance to countries of Eastern and southern partnership – that is, countries of Africa, the Balkans and Eastern Europe to €15 billion.

Since the beginning of the pandemic coronavirus in the world has infected more than 3.5 million people, more than 245 thousand dead.
