The Ukrainian Parliament on the proposal of President Vladimir Zelensky has dismissed head of the National Bank of the state of Yakov Smoliy.

This decision is supported by 286 deputies with the minimum of 226 votes, RIA “Novosti”.

Zelensky has made the offer of resignation Smoliy Thursday, July 2.

Yakov Smoliy has resigned, claiming “systematic political pressure”. He was appointed head of the NBU in the ex-President Petro Poroshenko in March 2018, succeeding in this post Valery Gontareva.

Smoliy said Friday that he had been pressured through paid rallies from the Central Bank.

“I in his letter said that in the past year, near National Bank (were) paid meetings, which were sitting here in the hall of deputies, the month block of my home, a month block of my deputies is an annual system pressure,” Smoliy said in Parliament.

According to him, at the government meeting it was repeatedly urged to “flood the economy with money” and cancel the basic principles of regulation of the banking system.

“In the past year at meetings, with the participation of deputies, representatives of Cabinet of Ministers, the Premier-Minister, the President not once in the side of the National Bank, there were calls to pour money into the economy, noted the basic principles of regulation of the banking system, to set the rate (of exchange) to exporters was better to put the inflation of 11% and a rate of 30 (per dollar)”, – he explained his resignation.

In addition, on Friday, the Rada dismissed the head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine Yury Terentyev.

This decision was supported by 226 people’s deputies with the required minimum of 226 votes.
