Ukraine appealed to the UN Secretary-General in connection with the Russian naval parade in the Crimea in honor of Navy day, as reported by the "Fast".
In the letter from the permanent representative of Ukraine to the UN Sergei Oxalis said that Kiev considers the parade in "occupied" Sevastopol "violation of norms of international law, including numerous resolutions of the UN General Assembly and legislation of Ukraine".
In this regard, the Ukrainian side called Russia’s actions "conscious steps", aimed at the escalation of tensions in Ukrainian-Russian relations.
Earlier, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine for the naval parade handed a protest note to the Russian Embassy.
Parades in honor of the day of Navy of Russia on July 26, were held at seven major bases in the country. This year the festive event was attended by 250 ships, which is 100 more than last year, about 15 thousand servicemen and about 80 aircraft and helicopters and more than 100 units of ground equipment.
In Sevastopol in the parade was attended by eight warships and support vessels, including the newest ship mine defense "Ivan Antonov," small rocket ship "Orekhovo-Zuyevo," ship of special purpose "Ivan Khurs", a large landing ship "Jamal", patrol ships, "okay" and "Inquisitive," guided-missile cruiser "Moscow" and patrol boat of the border service of the FSB.
