Iran intends to appeal to the UN Secretary General and the Security Council (SC) of the organization after the incident with the interception of an Iranian passenger plane a fighter aircraft of another state. This was stated by the Iranian mission to the UN, reports RIA "news".
Permanent representative of Iran to the organization Majid Takht-Ravanchi already held an emergency conversation with the UN Secretary General, antónio Guterres, spoke in the mission. They added that the Iranian side intends to send Guterres and the UN security Council a formal letter and ask them to take action.
Earlier it was reported that an Iranian passenger plane made an emergency landing due to the approaching fighters. Several passengers were injured. Initially it was assumed that the fighters belong to Israel, but the crew said that fighter pilots presented themselves as American.
