In Mardin in the South-East of Turkey has grown more than 400 tons of sorghum from seeds found during archaeological excavations of the sites of ancient Mesopotamia.

After the harvest, grown using traditional technologies and modern methods of agriculture, and sorghum ground, and a team of local women baked the bread in the tandoor.

the Project is funded by the EU and is supported by Food and agriculture organization of the United Nations. One of the objectives of the project is to increase employment among local residents. So, in the revival of the traditions of the use of sorghum occupied 310 women from the province of Mardin.
