Turkish foreign Ministry reacted sharply to the words of the President of France Emmanuel Makron, who said that Turkey is playing a “dangerous game”, supporting the national consensus government (NTC) of Libya. The statement deemed it “brain fog” of Macron, reports Anadolu Agency.
The official representative the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkey Hami Aksoy said that France is directly responsible for the chaos in Libya since the Paris years provided support to the illegal groups. According to him, Turkey supports the NTC on the basis of UN resolutions and requirements of the legal authorities of this country, and macron “unfounded accusations” attempts to hide the true state of Affairs in North Africa.
“unfortunately, it has long been clear that Paris is not able to give an objective and impartial assessment of the events. The French authorities just don’t want to make an objective assessment, and that’s the worst,” said Aksoy.
Foreign Ministry spokesman also said that France has no right to make any decisions on the situation in Libya, as the country has no outlet to the Eastern Mediterranean.
