MOSCOW, 27 Jun — RIA Novosti. The President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov has signed the decree about using the old name of the capital of the Republic of Staliniri — during the events related to memorable dates of the great Patriotic war. The decree published on the website of the President.
As noted in the text of the document, the name will be used on may 9 and June 22.

Tskhinvali renamed Staliniri in 1934, however, in 1961 the city in the fight against the personality cult of Stalin became known as Tskhinvali. In 1991, the government of South Ossetia returned to the capital the name of Tskhinvali, which was used by local inhabitants during the Soviet period.
