the biggest international issue is the situation around the negotiations of the United States and Russia on nuclear disarmament. This opinion was expressed by the President of the United States Donald trump in an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt.

the American leader noted that Moscow wants to conclude an agreement, and two countries are now working on this issue. “I don’t think they will wait and this is great,” trump was quoted by TASS. Earlier, the White house has stated that the United States will be pleased to conclude an agreement on nuclear weapons with Russia. “It would be great if we had something like that” – said trump.

Recall that in Vienna in July was held a meeting of interdepartmental delegations of Russia and the United States bilateral strategic dialogue on space security doctrine and capabilities, transparency and verification. Earlier in June, Moscow and Washington have discussed the prospects for arms control, including the question of the extension of the start-3 and stability conditions of termination of the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range.

start-3, signed in 2010, is the only existing agreement between Russia and the USA on the limitation of armaments. The period of validity expires in February 2021. Moscow has repeatedly indicated it is prepared to extend the start-3, without preconditions.
