The US President Donald trump called telephone talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin "very productive".

"We’re not talking about what we are discussing, but we have had many discussions and I think they were very productive," said trump at a press conference in response to a question about the content of the conversation with Putin.

The press service of the Kremlin reported earlier that the presidents of the two countries in conversation on 23 July to discuss the situation around the Iranian nuclear program and the need for collective efforts to maintain stability in the region, and expressed commitment to the development of trade-economic cooperation between Russia and the United States.

Trump said in a telephone conversation with Putin that he hoped to avoid an arms race between the US, Russia and China, announced in turn, in a written statement, White house spokesman Judd Deere.
