President of the United States Donald trump urged his subordinates to reduce public criticism of Russia. This opinion was expressed by a former aide of the American leader for national security John Bolton in his book “the Room where it happened: a memoir of the White house”.

Ex-Advisor trump described which took place in August 2018 advice on preventing foreign interference in U.S. elections, and pointed out that the position of the President and his aides on this issue differed significantly.

“unfortunately, this something because trump has repeatedly objected to criticism of Russia, but also insisted that we not be so critical of Russia in public speeches”, — quotes TASS of Bolton.

According to him, many members of the Republican party expressed dissatisfaction at the insufficient rigidity of the trump against Russia.

on 23 June, the Russian foreign Ministry commented on the published in the day book of John Bolton on the job in the White house: Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov called it “a political element “showdown” in the United States.”

Press-Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called for an adequate assessment of the memoirs of Bolton as merely a “version” of events, “not quite typical of such high-ranking officials”.

20 June 2020 the court allowed to publish the memoirs, despite the objections of the White house. 18 Jun trump has accused Bolton in the disclosure of classified state information in the book. A few days before that, the U.S. government filed for Bolton to court to prevent him to publish a memoir about his stay in the White house.
