US President, Donald trump has engaged the law on defense production in wartime or emergency situation to immediately implement programs for hypersonic weapons and space technologies, says the White house.
"Without measures of the President in accordance with section 303 of the act cannot reasonably be expected that the industry of the United States will be able to adequately and timely to ensure the production of ultrahigh and high temperature composites for hypersonic strategic missile and space systems-launch", – stated in the decree of the President.
According to trump, the actions in accordance with the law are the most efficient and appropriate.
Previously, the Pentagon acknowledged that the U.S. is lagging behind Russia and China in the field of hypersonic weapons. This year the trump has already used this law to produce the necessary medical equipment in terms of coronavirus.
